The Anne Kolb Nature Center was named after the late County Commissioner
and environmentalist. It opened in 1996 and is dedicated to helping people
appreciate the South Florida's natural enviornment, including its native
plants and animals.
The Nature Center features:
Environmental Boat Tours - 40 minute narrated excursions onto West Lake.
Exhibit Hall - with nature displays, a 3,500-gallon aquarium, and more.
Entrance fee.
Lake Observation Trail - a 1,374-foot wheelchair-accessible nature trail.
Mud Flat Observation Trail - a 1,552-foot nature trail.
Observation Tower - a 68-foot tower providing a 360-degree view of the
nature center.
International Game Fishing Association World Fishing Center
300 Gulf Stream Way, Dania, Fla., 33004. Directions: Take I-95 to Griffin
Road. Go west to Anglers Way, turn left and you'll see the entrance on
the left.
With Florida's abundance of water, it should be no surprise that the International
Game Fish Association Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum is located here.
This museum, which opened Dec. 19, 1998, covers all kinds of game fishing,
conservation, fish facts and tackle.
A visit to the museum begins with an 18-minute film showing different
kinds of fishing through scenes with people who hold fishing records.
In between these fishing "testimonials," viewers can witness
a big-game fishing trip off the coast of Costa Rica, from the preparations
to the release of the marlin. A warning: people sitting in the first rows
may get wet!

for a fascinating view of marine life and the wreckage of a Spanish Galleon.
Key West Aquarium

Key West's oldest tourist attraction (built in 1934) and still one of
the most fascinating, the Key West Aquarium gives visitors a diver's-eye
view of the marine creatures that inhabit these tropical waters. Don't
miss the guided tours (11 AM and 1, 3 and 4:30 PM daily) where "feeding
shows" take place.
Miami Seaquarium

There's a reason why the Miami Seaquarium is South Florida's most attended
attraction: kids love it. While the Seaquarium is not as large or glitzy
as Sea World in Orlando, kids can get splashed by Lolita the Killer Whale,
see a dolphin show, and get up close and personal with endangered manatees.
