America has always been a rich and powerful country and the pressure of keeping up can get to us all. Our economy has gone through some trying times in recent years and although some have benefited from the market conditions many of us are still struggling to make ends meet and living from pay check to pay check. Situations such as this sometimes require desperate measures and often times poor choices are made that result in bad debts and credit woes. Having a bad credit report or poor credit history can cost you more than you expect in the long run.
A decent credit score has become ever more important and having a bad credit report can stop you from much more than getting more credit car offers in the mail. Everyone from landlords and utility services to employers and even relationship partners are running credit checks to determine whether you quality for services or that you are even who you claim to be. Getting into a decent apartment complex often times now requires not only a credit check but a background check as well to verify not only your identity but to verify your ability to pay. The information age has it’s benefits but in some cases it can hurt us. Not getting a job because your credit score isn’t what they want to see sounds improbable but it does in fact happen.
Maintaining a debt free life is everyone’s dream but they don’t bother to teach us much of that stuff in high school do they? Learning how to manage debt and pay off your bills isn’t exactly easy but there are tools available to assist those that want to clear their credit report and pay off their existing debts. You can find loads of information online about credit repair and debt reduction but filtering the noise and garbage can be a real pain. I found a great tool for learning is to use mini email courses on a topic. For example Debt-Free-Lifestyle.net offers a a Debt Reduction Course by Email on Becoming Debt Free
