Blendy pens make a great playtime activity

In the never ending search for new things to do with the kids someone has suggested to me that we spend more time with our art projects and our oldest son certainly loves this idea. He has been drawing rather detailed pictures since before he could speak and he can spend an entire afternoon alone with his notebooks and markers drawing us the most precious colored pictures and scenes from around the home that you have ever seen. He’s not the most advanced kids artist you know of but he does have his own unique style and of course we’re proud of his work. He really likes to draw large color blocks with intricate smaller designs accenting the page. Each page is a creation in itself and once done is to be left alone when he moves on to the next project.

He will spend quite a bit of time drawing by his self and we feel that it’s best kids get some alone time in life. He really enjoys his drawing time and we have dedicated a space for his art projects in one corner of his room. he has a desk with loads of drawing supplies including fresh stacks of paper and every color you could imagine in the world of markers. he also uses lots of paints, crayons and drawing pencils. He has been mixing and matching his art media for quite sometime and I have noticed he seems to enjoy mixing his drawing pencils and markers for certain types of drawings but he will only mix crayons and markers for other things.

We try to keep him covered with the latest art supplies and he has almost every type of working medium there is including an easel for upright working as well as the dedicated desk for different size pieces of paper and different drawing devices. He has stencils, stickers and load of other stuff but sometimes all that seems to bore him. While looking for a new way to excite him about drawing we came across these Blendy pens for sale online and we’re intrigued to see what they will do for him. We’re ordering a set of Blendy pens for him to try out. We’re thinking they may be similar to the blow pens he’s had in the past where you mix colors and blow artwork on the desired medium. The blow pens we’re pretty cool so we’re hoping for that and then some from these blendy pens. According to this Blendy pen website the El Grande Activity Kit allows you to create a whopping 276 color blends.

Now that may seem like about 200 colors more than any kid needs but with the way things are these days it’s barely enough. We are hopefull he’ll enjoy the ability to mix up and create his own color schemes beyond the 64 colors found in the largest box of crayons. He has not received his new Blendy pens set but we’re hoping that once he does have them he’ll grow beyond some of his basic color choices and standard patterns and try some new things with his new set of color markers. If not then at least he’ll be able to offer some new colors for his older designs. He really enjoys drawing us clues much like he learned from Blues Clues and maybe we’ll find some new colorful clues to decipher with him.
