It’s already December and we’re traveling back to Florida in a few days. It’s been a long trip here in Jamaica but after 5 months I am certain we have made the right move in moving to Jamaica. The kids are a bit nervous about flying home on the airplane. Well at least AJ is. Being autistic he has never cared much for any kind of ride except a car and he only recenlty tried a few rides at the carnival. He rode some of the slower moving things like the kiddy boats and carts but never anythign hat went up very high or caused a queesy feeling in his belly. He does not like elevators or even escalators very much so going up in a plane is pretty traumatic for him. He has done remarkably well on all of our flights and we’re proud of the fact he has adjusted so well to it. I was very concerned he would hate the planes and travel aspect of moving to Jamaica and he would be our biggest trouble but it is very clear he wants to travel back to Florida so he can score some new games and movies and he wants to be back here as soon as possible so he can get back to the beaches and away from the cold. I explained to him that it would be winter in Ocala when we arrive and there was a chance that it would be cold for Christmas. He was not very excited about the weather but anything Christmas lights his face up.
We fly in to Fort Lauderdale International and we’ll be driving back to Ocala from there in moms car. A couple weeks at moms house should be fun for everyone and I’m sure by the end of the month she will be glad to get rid of us. I’ll try to post some more from her place and share some pictures of our adventures in homeschooling.
