It’s been a hard year for many Americans with almost 800,000 of us out of work this year and the outlook for the next few years is gloomy in the eyes of most economists. It seems all of us are in need of a job or maybe a better job if not more money from our current one and it’s obvious the US job market has seen better days.
Finding a job in Florida is not easy at all with an unemployment rate of 6.6% in September. That places Florida on the high end of the unemployment rates amongst the 51 states and ranks us as 38 overall with only 12 other states and the District of Columbia having higher rates.
As bad as it seems we’re doing better than places like Michigan and Rhode Island with 8.7% and 8.8% respectively and there are some bright spots in the market. Although we have lost a number of jobs in areas such as manufacturing and retail we still have work in the basics such as accounting and finance.
With so much competition for jobs in the market it has become more important to be thorough with your job search and focused on finding not only a job but the right one that may help you ride out these tough economic times. As an example to find an accounting job in Florida one would probably start with their local paper where they would go on interviews and present their resume in hopes of being hired but that’s not going to be enough for many job searchers and those who go the extra mile will get the best jobs.
Online job searches, professionally written or even video resumes and even job hunters are all examples of things people are now doing to enhance their chances for a job today. Searching for Accounting Jobs in Florida is easier with niche websites like this one here that lets you search for a job as an Accountant or as an Account Executive which makes it easier to target the exact job title you seek.
So, if you’re looking for a job or maybe a better job consider that there are many new ways to increase your chances to succeed.
