Maternity leave and clothing for a new mommy

My sister is having a baby. She says she doesn’t want to know what this one is so we can’t say boy or girl. She’s due in October and she’s taking off for maternity leave for a few weeks and we wanted to get her a nice gift. She lives in California which enacted legislation to require maternity coverage for pregnant mothers but thankfully she works for a GLBT medical clinic and her gay doctor boss insisted she spend time home with the new baby.

Someone suggested we buy some nice maternity clothes for her as she has grown quite a bit larger than most everything she owns and we can’t just have her run around naked can we? She has a pair of jogging pants she has been wearing out recently and my brother in law says she has been feeling a bit blue about the weight gain amongst other things. He’s concerned about depression and he says she’s worried about the weight gain. He says she wants baggy clothing to hide it when she goes out.

I thought it would be nice to get her some nice maternity clothes to wear that would remind her how beautiful she really is and we went searching for a maternity clothing website with a nice selection of clothing and accessories. We came across BellyDanceMaternity.com which offers what they call “Hip Designer Maternity Clothing” in an easy to use layout that my web newbie sister can handle with little to no problem. They feature brand name maternity clothing from hip designers like Juicy Couture Maternity. Knowing her she’ll stick to something simple like a plain maternity dress but it’s the thought that counts right?

They offer gift certificates so I don’t actually have to pick out anything for her but I can get her the best gift which is what she wants for herself. She’ll have some fun playing around with the site and maybe she’ll even spend some her hubbies money and add on to the order for a better look and feel for herself.
