Wow! It’s already November and the holidays are just around the corner. I’m not a very religious person and we are not a very religious family but we do celebrate Christmas albeit more so as an end of the year celebration and not a Christian day as it was meant to be. We pray more to gift cards and discounts. I look for things to add to our childrens life and the yearn for more junk in it. I find myself fighting the urge to buy things with commercial characters on them but its almost useless at this point. My kids are so ion love with the characters from shows like LazyTown and The Backyardigans which are some pretty cool characters actually and far better than SpongeBob and those more adult shows.
We’ll be in the States for the month of December so November will be a lot of planning and preparing for me as I hope to acquire some more things for our further adventures here in Jamaica. The kids are really learning a lot just living here in Jamaica and I’m warming up to the idea of homeschool while traveling abroad. It’s certainly not as rigid as an stateside school environment but with AJ and his autism I think he gains more from being around others than he does being streamlined at the public schools in Florida. I think we’re becoming better homeschoolers and more of our life is a lesson for both our children. I hope things continue to grow as we do and our children reflect the dynamic world they were raised in.
We’re kinda far from the South Florida Family that we were when this site began but our kids are still South Florida Children. They are simply living in the Caribbean for the time being.
