Butterfly World
Dozens of colorful parrots descend on Butterfly World

Butterfly World opened its doors to the public in March 1988, making it
the first and largest butterfly house in the United States. Stroll through
thousands of flowers, tropical plants, waterfalls, gardens, and of course,
watch thousands of LIVE butterflies in all stages of life.
Butterfly World is located in Tradewinds Park. Take the Florida Turnpike
or Interstate I-95, exit at Sample Road and head west. Enter into the
park on the south side of Sample Road.
Flamingo Gardens

Flamingo Gardens Botanical Gardens and Wildlife Sanctuary is a place undisturbed
by encroaching development. You'll see rare, exotic and native plants
and animals including flamingos (of course), otters, and aligators.
Don't miss the 25,000 square foot Everglades "free-flight" facility
housing the largest collection of wading birds in America. Five ecosystems
are represented at the park. A narrated 30 minute tram ride guides you
through groves, native hammock and wetland zones.

At Lion Country Safari you'll enjoy two different parks for the price
of one. First, lead your own safari through its world famous 500-acre
drive-through wildlife preserve. You'll see more than 1000 types of animals

at the Safari World amusement park. Enjoy free rides, games, a petting
zoo for children, nature walks, animal demonstrations, feedings and much

Miami Metrozoo

Miami Metrozoo is unlike any zoo you've ever visited. This cageless zoo,
where animals roam in settings similar to their natural habitats, is the
only zoo in the United States in a subtropical climate.
Metrozoo has a collection of 1500 mammals, fish, reptiles, birds, invertebrates
and amphibians of almost 300 species. Special exhibits include the elusive
okapi (the only relative to the giraffe), giant eland, tree kangaroo,
koala, Komodo dragon, clouded leopard, Andean condor, white Bengal tiger,
silverback lowland gorilla and meerkat.
